More Coming Soon

I only decided to repurchase this domain after noticing in a moment of boredom and perhaps a little hope that it was available again, it having fallen into Domain Purgatory for around ten years following my forgetting to renew it previously. What I shall do here, if anything, I'm not sure yet. Though what I would like, as I would-have-liked so many times in the past, would be to treat this as a combination journal – a place for thoughts, reflections, poems or stories – and as a commonplace book (more on that soon, hopefully). This is what I've done in the past, and while it may never have garnered much of an audience, I found it of accumulating value as a personal hobby. For the moment, let this be a placeholder as I see if I can finally wrest the discipline to write and publish regularly again, and, of course, mourn the passing of the great Wendell Berry while trying to practice a little resurrection of my own diminished habit of writing.

The loved ones we call the dead
depart from us and for a while
are absent. And then as if
called back by our love, they come
near us again. They enter our dreams.
We feel they have been near us
when we have not thought of them.
They are simply here, simply waiting
while we are distracted among
our obligations. At last
it comes to us: They live now
in the permanent world.
We are the absent ones.
–Wendell Berry, 'The Loved Ones'

Just so that this place wouldn't be barren in the meantime, I did import the few surviving posts from my old Tumblr blog into here for now, though I haven't really looked at most of that in so long that it would probably be better to have left it be and started this space from blank. Unfortunately, my main, old blog from Salon has been irretrievably lost to the ether.
