What is this?
IN THE MIDDLE WAY
In The Middle Way is an impulsive resurrection of a very old blog, and I will update this section as soon as I know myself what this site is going to be about, if it is going to be about anything at all. I may share small items of interest between larger, more formal pieces of my own writing. That's the essence of a commonplace book to begin with. We see where it leads.
If you do sign-up/subscribe to this little project, you will only receive very infrequent email notifications, never more than three a month, of more polished works and monthly roundups. You may well never receive anything at all.
A COMMONPLACE BOOK

SHORT BIO
Born in 1984, I was an associate editor for Middle East Affairs for The New York Times from 2011 until 2020. Residing between Saint Albans, West Virginia, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, I graduated from Eastern University in 2010 with a bachelor's in social anthropology. While my primary work has focused on research, writing and photography, with an emphasis on geopolitical conflict and social inequities, I have a wide breadth of experience and technological expertise, with interests ranging from ecology to faith to culture to literature to economics to science to most everything in between, and am nearly always open to new, cooperative project ideas, so an invitation to contact me is always open.
